Hi,

I am new to udev and plug-n-play.

Please let me know -
1. Why do we need usb_modeswitch?
2. In case usb_modeswitch is used to just convert USB device to Serial
or Ethernet device (as per my understanding), then why not enumerate
the device as Serial or Ethernet device itself?

Good Day!

Warm Regards,
Suresh

Why do you think we do not?

Have you looked at the devices that need this program to be run? I
think if you look at the USB descriptors of them, you will answer
question #1 yourself :)

Hope this helps,
